Term 1, Week 7

This week Room 14 have been focussing on our school expectation to 'Be Kind'.
We have looked at ways to use kind hands, kind feet and kind words.
Have a look at our wonderful displays outside our classroom door.
We have also focussed some of our writing on being kind.
We have enjoyed lots of literacy learning during our investigations this week.
The children have also showed some great design and creativity during Investigation times.  We have enjoyed hearing them reflect on their design process as well.
On Wednesday for Footsteps dance, we were introduced to partner dancing.  The children did a great job of working together with their partners.
On Wednesday, we also read one of our favourite stories about Pete the Cat and his four groovy buttons.  We then made up own button number stories about Pete's buttons popping off.
On Thursday we were very fortunate to go on a trip to the Capital E Arts Festival.  All of the children we so well behaved and showed respect, responsibility and kindness all day.

On Friday all of the students, staff and whānau of Tawa School had the opportunity to share their support for the people of Christchurch.  We listened to some speeches and then sang some songs together.  We took this picture to show our unity, support and aroha.
