Term 1 Week 3

This week we were lucky to welcome Yaya to Room 14. We continued with our swimming sessions this week. This week as well as developing water confidence further, students were practising their backward floating starfish. On Monday as a way to practise our fine motor skills the students iced and decorated cup cakes We also combined practising our fine motor skills and literacy skills together to make our names out of play dough. On Thursday for maths strand we did a statistical investigation into the eye colours in our class. Firstly, the students looked in a mirror to identify their eye colour and then they coloured in an eye picture to match. The students then took it in turns to place their picture in the right column. When we finished we counted how many of each we had and labeled our findings. The students then worked out that we had 8 more students with brown eyes than students with blue eyes. Term 1 Week 2

This week we welcomed Caleb to Room 14 On Monday we continued with our water confidence swimming sessions. This week we have been using butterflies to explore symmetry. During investigation time this week, we had a focus of working collaboratively. We also introduced the craft table.  The students have really enjoyed literacy and numeracy learning this week. On Friday morning  to get our bodies and brains warmed up for the day, we went to the hall for an active circuit. This circuit was designed to improve students balance, co-ordination and fitness.
