Term 1, Week 8

We have had another action packed week in Room 14. Our theme for the week has been farm animals and we have been doing lots of activities related to farm animals. As part of our farm animal theme, we have enjoyed reading 'Mrs Wishy Washy' as our big book. Some of us wrote stories about what we would put into Mrs Wishy Washy's tub. We have also been busy with lots of wonderful maths learning this week. We have been learning to order numbers to 20 and also working on our numeral formation. We have also been working on correct handwriting formation and making sure we start our letters in the right place and they are formed the correct way around. We have had lots of fun using our gross motor skills in the outdoor area.  This included climbing on our new rainbow rope ladder. Term 1, Week 7

This week Room 14 have been focussing on our school expectation to 'Be Kind'. We have looked at ways to use kind hands, kind feet and kind words. Have a look at our wonderful displays outside our classroom door. We have also focussed some of our writing on being kind. We have enjoyed lots of literacy learning during our investigations this week. The children have also showed some great design and creativity during Investigation times.  We have enjoyed hearing them reflect on their design process as well. On Wednesday for Footsteps dance, we were introduced to partner dancing.  The children did a great job of working together with their partners. On Wednesday, we also read one of our favourite stories about Pete the Cat and his four groovy buttons.  We then made up own button number stories about Pete's buttons popping off.
