Term 1 Week 6

We continued with or Kapa Haka sessions this week. The video below is one of the Pasifika songs we have been learning.
This week Room 14 students have been really enjoying collaborative play during investigation time.
At every assembly our amazing caretaker chooses a class from Tawa school that they think have been doing a great job at keeping their classroom and cloak bay area clean. The winning class is presented with a Class Turangawaewae award. I am delighted to say that all the hard work the students have put in to keeping our classroom and cloak bay clean and tidy was recognised by us winning this assembly award.
This week our word of the week was 'like'. On Thursday during investigation time we made healthy fruit kebabs. We used this investigation as a writing prompt, so that children could write about what fruit they like.

For Friday arts we created bubble pattern pictures. The students blew bubbles into a variety of coloured dyes until the bubbles rose up above the container. The students then transferred the bubbles onto paper by placing it over the top. The students chose their own colours. We are going to turn these pictures into unique planets next week.

On Friday we continued with our PMP sessions. The students continued to develop their balance, eye coordination and gross motor skills.
